The shapes are the basic shapes like a square, oval, triangle, and star. They are colored and have the word on them to help kids get familiar with the words while they are learning their shapes.

The flash card makers currently only allow text so you are limited to words, numbers, or the alphabet.  They all allow you to have something on the front and on the back. 
The first two would be great for kids to help make the flash cards, but all of them will serve the purpose. I intend to add a feature to create printable flash cards in the future, but for now the above sites should do just fine. I hope you enjoy your flash cards!
